The Urbanist is an Auckland-based urban design, planning and landscape practice focused on creating resilient, regenerative and equitable environments for people and nature. Led by Director Zoë Avery, the practice takes a collaborative and holistic approach, integrating urban design, planning, landscape architecture and green infrastructure to create sustainable and healthy places. Its work spans public realm strategy, urban regeneration, masterplanning, climate adaptation, landscape design, strategic planning and community engagement.
The Urbanist places sustainability and nature at the heart of its work, exploring how cities can respond to climate change while improving biodiversity, health and wellbeing. Through design-led thinking and strong partnerships, the practice creates connected, resilient and future-focused communities.
