I’ve been building for over 40 years and have never looked back.
After completing my formal apprenticeship training and achieving my trade certificate qualification in New Plymouth my wife Mary-Lu and I decided it was time to see a bit of the world.
On our return I formed a building partnership and after a few years of gaining experience and expertise of running a business Mary-Lu and I began our own company Terry Clegg Builders Limited in 1998.
Our business is mainly residential housing, alterations and additions and occasionally embark on some light commercial work.
We pride ourselves on our personal approach, competitive fixed pricing and quality finishing. We have on numerous occasions put forward our homes since 2002 to be judged in the annual Registered Master Builder House of the Year competition which are in recognition of excellence in workmanship, creativity and innovation for homes built where we have won many gold awards as well as winning the Supreme Award for Taranaki in 2004, 2008 and 2013.
In 2013 we also made an outstanding achievement and was awarded a National Winner for one of our homes. I am a member of the Registered Master Builders, executive member of the Taranaki Master Builders Association and a judge for the apprentice of the year competition, which I enjoy, seeing young people coming into the industry. We are Licensed Building Practitioners therefore we are current with all building regulations and practices.
