Nott Architects is a smaller Christchurch firm that has been recognised in the NZIA regional awards for architecture, interior architecture, hospitality sustainability and colour, plus a NZIA national award for hospitality.
They take on a very diverse range of both large and small scale projects. They have completed projects for coastal, rural, alpine, and urban settings, often in areas of outstanding natural landscapes.
Their buildings are considered carefully to complement the landscape they are built into.
Director and architect, Charlie Nott, believes a key part is the selection of materials that resonate and blend with the changing colours of the lakes, mountains, and grasses etc that define the area.
Several projects have been prefabricated and moved in sections onto some harsh and remote sites.
Their urban buildings are more fitting with the city vibe. Stone, wood, glass and corrugated metal feature in Nott’s designs, and colour palettes are kept natural and muted.
