Mark May Villas & Renovation was founded by Mark May in 1983. The company first traded as May Builders and then May Build before deciding to re-brand as Mark May Villas & Renovation in order to align with the focus on villa and bungalow renovation and restoration.
With 39 years as a qualified master builder, Mark employs a team of equally experienced, traditional craftsmen who share the same passion for quality and precision as well as an overall desire to protect the heritage of New Zealand architecture by ensuring the sympathetic restoration and refurbishment of villas and bungalows.
The team has proudly worked on numerous projects over the years, particularly in the Waikato. One of the most memorable was the complete restoration of a 100 year old villa. The villa was stripped back to its bare bones and rebuilt using swamp kauri while also adding a second story. In recognition of this accomplishment, Mark was awarded the highly coveted Supreme Award from National House of the Year.
Mark May Villas & Restoration’s philosophy is to “treat every client’s home as if it were our own”. The team understands the disruption and disarray that can be created by renovating so strives to ensure the client’s privacy is respected, and that each site is kept clean and tidy as much as possible. Once finished the ultimate success for Mark May and the team is seeing the looks of joy and pride displayed by each client as they savour the stunning splendour of their home.
