Isthmus is a multidisciplinary New Zealand design practice working across landscape architecture, urban design and architecture. With studios in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch, the practice brings together around 90 designers united by a kaupapa to regenerate Aotearoa by connecting land, people and culture. Isthmus takes an integrated, place-based approach, combining design, ecology, culture and community to create positive social and environmental outcomes.
Its work spans public spaces, urban regeneration, masterplanning, housing, architecture, streetscapes and coastal environments. Guided by principles of sustainability, collaboration and regenerative design, Isthmus seeks to create places that strengthen communities, respect the land and respond thoughtfully to the challenges of a changing climate.
