Herbst Maxcey Metropolitan Architects (HMMA) is a New Zealand Institute of Architects registered practice founded in 2011 by Lance and Nicola Herbst alongside Bodie Maxcey. Based in Auckland Central, the small, design-led studio has completed a wide range of building types across residential, commercial, educational, and healthcare projects.
HMMA’s mission is to make a positive and meaningful contribution to the built environment through genuine excellence in architecture. The practice has received multiple NZIA awards, with work published extensively both locally and internationally, reflecting a considered, design-focused approach to every project it undertakes.
