Views From The Balcony

Avenue Architectural Builders

Avenue Architectural Builders won the Canterbury Registered Master Builder of the Year Renovation over $1 million award for this exquisite property with sea views.

The renovation and extension of this earthquake-damaged home has created an expansive, ultra-modern residence that maximises panoramic water views.

Future-proofing was top of mind in this build, with 40-plus solar panels installed on the roof to power the house, EV chargers, and pool heating.

The existing house was completely gutted and reconfigured, and the entire first floor was reframed with a combination of new pitched and flat roofs.

A sleek entrance with floating concrete stairs flows seamlessly to the four-metre-high entrance door and onto custom-built timber stairs.

The beautifully appointed fit-out includes the custom kitchen, vanities and wardrobes. In addition, the homeowners now enjoy a massive workshop within the garage, a spacious media room and a sunroom adjoining the kitchen.

The main bedroom suite has become a luxuriously large sanctuary with a sizeable dressing room and ensuite. And, for catching up on some reading or just relaxing in the sun, a covered balcony takes in the impressive views.
