Uniquely Exquisite

Wrought Iron Specialists

Wrought Iron Specialists in Auckland create centrepieces for homes and businesses that are timeless, and represent the company’s passion for blacksmithing.

Some of their work can be found in well known hotels and resorts throughout New Zealand, including most recently the famous Eichardts Hotel in Queenstown, with its beautiful new chandeliers.

“Our clients range from private home owners to commercial buildings and public resorts  – we work directly with the owners or their designers and architects.”

Founded in 2009 and encompassing 80 years of experience working with wrought iron and various other metals, the company has grown to now include four experienced trades-qualified staff.

Ken started working with metal more than 40 years ago, gaining copper-smithing apprenticeships in the UK, as well as studying Fine Arts.

He and his son Ian have since also branched out into other metals and now the business works with bronze, brass, aluminium and stainless steel for its clients.

“When you make something, and then you see the clients face, their eyes light up – that to me is the focal point of the whole thing.”

Whether you are looking for a sturdy wrought iron handrail, a statement balustrade, side table or exquisite chandelier, we can make you a time piece that will be a talking point for generations.

Our work has been commissioned right across New Zealand and as far away as South Africa. The business has collaborated with established interior designer Virginia Fisher for the past 32 years, working on projects such as at Cape Kidnappers and Sofitel Wellington.

They have also been involved in a number of the iconic and award winning homes and gardens for well known New Zealanders.

Ken said what he loves about his craft is seeing the response from the owners once it’s finished.

Balustrade work is the most sought after by Wrought Iron Specialists, and Ken says their high standards means nothing leaves the workshop until it is 100% perfect.

“We take our time to make things superb. And good things should take time,” he said.

Using old blacksmithing methods from many generations before, the wrought iron products are all individually waxed to seal in their quality.

“We are a very professional company and use old methods to manufacture outstanding pieces of art.”
