Hayden Roose Butcher doesn’t like being told something can’t be done – particularly when it relates to building. So whether that is your dream home or his, the experienced builder of 18 years loves a good challenge.
There were plenty of hurdles for Hayden when he purchased a steep bumpy section three years ago, but the masterpiece that sits there now and the intricate detail within every nook and cranny is worth a mention.
Wanting something unique, he and the electrician found a way of inserting LED strip lighting in behind the cedar infills of the steel portals that hold up the roof structure.
Having an appreciation for good lighting, and knowing the difference it can make on a build, there are unique details that have been built into his home, like the LED’s that have been rebated into the negative detail of the cedar outside in the barbecue area.
The lighting gives it an almost Star Wars effect, and with a lot of the lights in the house run off a WIFI system, that can be controlled by a cellphone, along with the hot water, stereo system as well as security, it all becomes very science fiction.
Hayden loves helping other people build their dream home too, and the more challenging the better.
Starting Roose Butcher Builders in 2008, the family-owned and operated business serves the Auckland area and is involved in everything from Eco homes – recently completing a house made from straw bales, through to light commercial projects.
Employing a strong team of builders and apprentices, they are dedicated to achieving a high level of craftsmanship with every project they do.
