A lot of forward planning went into building this personally customized home on the edge of the city in Hamilton.
Everything from the negative detail in the timber ceiling, the polished structural concrete floor in the living spaces and the exposed bottle traps in the bathrooms have all been carefully thought out.
JCC Build managing director Will Johnston said this was one of his company’s specialties and a real point of difference in the building industry. “A lot of thought has gone into the detail of this home before we even started,” he said. The wooden window seats have been manufactured to look old and recycled, along with the book shelves, giving this modern house a slightly rustic edge.
“Our client wanted a bespoke finish so we worked with them to achieve this.” Outside, the cladding is an impressive mixture of brick and Nuwall aluminum, while the Garapa decking compliments the varnished plywood ceiling inside and out.
“We have a very close relationship with our clients so we can be very accommodating and offer flexibility.” The company is understanding of the changes people sometimes make with their design along the way, and will happily work in with them to bring their vision to life.
