Penny Homes Taupo

Penny Homes has been building award-winning homes in the Taupo region for many years. In 2021 the company won the New Home ($450,000 – $600,000) category in Nukuhau.

The three-bedroom barn-style design has a separate wing that makes it so versatile – it can be shut off from the rest of the house to minimise heating, or it can be opened up as a kids’ haven.

A 215sqm property,  it has a warm and contemporary aesthetic that makes it stand out from the traditional hip or gable homes in its neighbourhood.

Paved courtyards make for easy entertaining, sits beautifully on its section, enabling panoramic views across New Zealand’s largest lake.

Higher than usual studs, and skylights, give the interior a light and spacious feel without diminishing any of its cosy vibe. Special touches, such as an in-built fireplace with a stone surround, pendant lights and an eye-catching kitchen splashback, can be found throughout.

The flow is natural and intuitive, which brings us back to that versatility – the home could be an entertainer’s dream or a tranquil retreat. Or both.

Building houses and creating spaces for New Zealanders to call their own is what we do – it’s what Penny Homes has always done.

Owners John and Kellie Penny’s own family values and expectations on service and workmanship have been at the centre of our business, right from our beginning in 1998 when we started our company in Taupo, to now – expanding New Zealand-wide.
