Superior Craftmanship

J.A. Bell Builders

Western red cedar and New York-style recycled clay brick gives the exterior of this award-winning JA Bell Building home a sense of permanence and place.

The company won a National award in the Registered Master Builders House of the Year Awards 2022 for the Builder’s Own Home category.

JA Bell Building also took out the Waikato Craftmanship and Interior Design award, and made the Top 100.

Five out of six builds in recent years have all be placed in the Top 100 National Awards, and this design was inspired by the home-owners love of travels to New York and Melbourne.

This modern industrial style home inculpates their love of natural timers, raw steel materials and textures.

An impressive four-bedroom family home that has been designed and crafted to take full advantage of its site and build footprint, it has a 234 sqm platform on a 580sqm site.

Delivering luxury and architectural style without compromise, the perception from the street denotes a completely different reality to what lies inside.

Twin pavilions are connected by a walk-through office and front entry, which can be closed off by bespoke steel sliding doors. Its clever, and there is more evidence of the smart design and top-notch craftmanship on display throughout.

The dining area features a recycled matai ceiling and velvet booth seating is neatly tucked under the stairs. By contrast, the kitchen and living area reside under a lofty 6m ceiling.

Theres even more clever use of space: a media room and library in the loft has views to the ranges, and there’s a detailed attic with 3m stud over the double garage.

Solar panels and high-quality insulation ensure efficient and sustainable energy savings.

The outside is a delight, with a 20sqm covered, heated entertaining area, swimming pool, cedar hot tub, vege gardens and fruit trees.
