At Customkit Buildings our timber framed Barn style buildings are a far cry from the draughty, bare boned, dirt floor barns of times gone by. Todays versions are design-led, light filled spaces with as many modern creature comforts as you’d like whilst still in keeping with the raw beauty and nostalgia of a barn. Interiors feature our signature timber portals and cathedral like ceilings whilst the outside is easily recognisable by the barn style exterior.
Customkit Buildings first opened its doors in 1993, supplying timber framed kitset barns to a local North Island market. The following 31 years has seen the company grow and evolve to being New Zealand’s most established designer and nationwide supplier of elegant Barn style building packages. Our buildings feature throughout the rural, coastal and alpine landscapes of New Zealand.
We don’t believe in the ‘one size fits all approach’ and haven’t offered a standard plan range for many years. Bespoke plans are created to suit your taste, budget and needs, utilising space, capturing views and forging a connection between your home and land. Your input is encouraged and we delight in offering people solutions that suit them, not us!
Many companies talk about tailoring their existing plans to your needs and the benefits of a ‘turn key’ operation when in truth any ‘tailoring’ can cost you a lot of money and ‘turn key’ can be a way to lock you out of your home until it’s finished! With Customkit Buildings you have the flexibility to be as involved in the process as you’d like both inside and out, even down to choosing your own builder.
