WEL Architecture is an Auckland based studio founded by director Joe Lyth, whose passion for building performance and occupant health grew after watching his family live in cold, mouldy, minimum code buildings. Joe went on to design his own Lower Saddle Passive House, proving that healthier, low energy homes are achievable within standard budgets.
WEL now offers design, consulting, and teaching services, drawing on Passive House and Homestar principles to create beautiful, comfortable, low energy buildings that are kind to people and planet. Each project is a genuine collaboration between client, designer, builder, and engineer, shaped by its specific site and context.
