HB Architecture

HB Architecture is a Whangārei-based practice led by director Grant Harris, who brings over 50 years of experience, including 25 years at Warren and Mahoney and Ignite Architects in Auckland. Formed as Harris Butt Architecture with Ian Butt, the studio has grown into a tight-knit, award-winning team delivering residential, civic, cultural, and tertiary projects nationwide.

Notable work includes the Hundertwasser Art Centre, Te Kōngahu Museum of Waitangi, and Knoll Ridge Cafe. Guided by passive design strategies, environmental integration, and deep community collaboration, HB Architecture creates grounded, enduring buildings that respond thoughtfully to place, purpose, and the people who use them.
