Dynamic Landscapes

Seed Landscapes

An inner-city Auckland garden bordering a neighbourhood park has been redesigned into a sub-tropical sanctuary by Seed Landscapes.

Landscape designer Donna Stanish reconnected the house and pool by creating generous entertaining areas and stepped platforms floating above the garden.

Kwila timber platforms link the family room on the lower level to the swimming pool, and a row of three giant bromeliads planted in circular pots has become a dramatic feature of the garden.  The red flower spikes make this the client’s favourite plant in her garden.

The original stand of bananas and a cabbage tree were kept and layers of native and sub-tropical planting with feature plants, leaf colour and texture were added to provide a lush and private oasis resulting in a resort look and feel.

At Seed we believe that gardens are for living. Donna loves working with clients to change how they live, relate and connect in the garden.

It really does improve families lives having a garden that works for you and it gives her great joy and satisfaction to see how the garden experience for her family of clients is transformed.

I am proud to be part of this and honoured to be able to share my expression in the form of beautiful living spaces for people.

Gardens are dynamic, evocative, touchable spaces. Change your environment and you will be transported. We aim to provide value to our clients by guiding them to visualise and achieve a garden they absolutely love

Donna graduated from Unitec in 1999 with a Diploma in Landscape Design and has been designing gardens for private homes and commercial clients, while gaining knowledge and experience ever since.

A hands-on passionate gardener, she has been very fortunate to travel and visit cultural and historical gardens throughout the world.
