Great angles feature in this Moncks Bay home in Christchurch by Parsons Construction.
This two-storey dwelling of mixed construction includes timber-framing, isolated steelwork and a concrete foundation. The house has four bedrooms and a total floor area of approximately 380sqm.
The key design challenges revolved around the house being built on a TC2 site and within a flood zone. We proposed a waffle slab foundation with a suspended CLT ground floor raised above the flood level.
The architectural design created a number of design challenges to allow for cantilevered floor areas, overhanging bay windows and bespoke eaves details around windows.

He started Parsons Construction in 2003 and it has grown from an initial four employees and one team to the current day where we have four teams.
